Regarding Peter Dinklage‘s casting for the movie, this is what Bryan told IGN:

“He’s not going to be a CGI character.  He’ll be himself.  Not that he’ll be playing Peter Dinklage, he’ll be playing this character.  It’s not a shy character.  He’s just such a phenomenal actor; I’m a huge fan of Peter’s and Game of Thrones.  He was my first choice and I was really happy [about the casting].  It’s so funny to talk to him because he does that impeccable accent [on Game of Thrones] and then you talk to him and he’s this guy from New Jersey.”

Whatever role Dinklage has in the movie works for me, because the guy is awesome!  He was awesome in (whatever movie or show he is/was in) – that’s how awesome he is.  And I’m sure he’ll be awesome as the main antagonist as well.  Yes, he’ll be playing the main antagonist.  You betcha!

Director/Mastermind Bryan Singer

Regarding the rest of the IGN interview, this is what we know:

  • He’s going to repair a few things from past movie(s) – most likely X-Men: The Last Stand.
“You mean, what you’re politely saying is, ‘fix s**t.’ Is that what you’re saying? That’s what I’m hearing. [Laughing]  There’s going to be a little of that, a few things I can repair.”
  • Bryan was emotionally nervous seeing X3, but was glad for his Superman experience, and having his hands back on the X-Men franchise after “First Class.”
  • He did not confirm a Cyclops or Jean Grey return.  “That’s all I can say.”
  • The movie takes a form of time travel that is in the tradition of the X-Men mythos.
  • The movie is going to have some funny moments for the characters.  “Every character you discover in this movie is in a completely different place than you’ve ever seen, emotionally, and it’s about them moving through that. Hilarity ensues!”
  • Basically, follow Bryan (@BryanSinger) for more casting updates and announcements.
