THE X-FILES Returns, and here’s your first look!

Sorry, I just can’t keep this in any longer!

I haven’t been posting much here, but it’s the freakin’ X-Files! The. X. Files!

This is the show that started my fanfic writing. This is the show that started the “ship” term! Well, at least for me, it did. This is Mulder and Scully! There will never be another like them. And I’m so freakin’ excited I don’t even know what to say anymore.

Just watch and see why Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny still own it!

Now, I’ll admit that I haven’t watched every single episode of the original series, but I can guarantee that I watched every single episode of the series when Duchovny was a regular on the show. It was just never the same after his appearances became scarce. But you’ll be sure that I’ll be watching the revised series once it starts on January 24, 2016.

I know that just because the original creator and the original stars being on the show doesn’t mean it will be at the same greatness as it was more than 20 years ago, but I can’t imagine it being any better with any other actors and talent than the original.  I want to believe this is just going to be the best and it will still be as awesome as it was before.

THE X-FILES To Return with Original Duo and Creator

Mulder and Scully are back!

The X-Files was my first influence into writing fan fiction, and I think those stories are still around somewere in the interverse.  Anyway, it’s been talked about for a long time, and it seems that Fox has decided that it was time to actually do something about it.  They’ve gotten Chris Carter, David Duchovny, and Gillian Anderson back, which really is the only way to bring back The X-Files.  Sorry, other peeps that were in the later seasons that I can’t even remember your names, but it was always about Mulder and Scully.

“I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” said Carter. “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”

Yeah, six episodes.  Well, I guess that’s something.  They just better be really good episodes!

The X-Files ran for about 10 seasons, but those last 3 really didn’t count for much since David Duchovny took his exit around season 7.  They tried to make it work, bringing in two new FBI agents into the fold, but the show was really losing its steam (as you can tell, I was one of them who lost interest.)  Then they had the movies, but unfortunately, it didn’t do as well as they’d hoped.

You could say that The X-Files was what influenced a lot of the popular shows today in pushing the boundaries of content on TV, but it was just also a really standout series.  I don’t know if they’ll be able to stand out as much now on network television, what with cable shows like The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad having pushed the boundaries of what to show on the small screen, with even some other network shows, such as Hannibal (which Gillian Anderson appeared in as well.)  But then again, maybe it’s time to see what Carter can do if given more to push.

I was such an X-Phile when it first came out, and I still have some collectibles, of course. I’m excited for this, but at the same time, I wonder if it’s going to have the same appeal as it did during its original run. What do you think?

Funko Appeases FIREFLY Fans with Pop! Vinyl Figures

It was only a matter of time before Funko realized the error of their ways and finally got around to making these wonderful Firefly additions to their already massive collectible vinyl figures.  I’m Veruca Salt and I want it all!

Despite the same black eyes on almost all their figures, what’s great about these Funko Pop! figures is how they add those little traits that we love about the characters.  We have Jayne’s most iconic accessory – his knitted cap, Kaylee with ratchet in hand and her green overalls, and Wash with his endearing plastic toy dinosaur.  It’s just too cute!

No doubt you’re noticing that there are a few figures missing.  I’m thinking Funko’s other job is to make people crazy with desire for what’s not here.  They best have Simon, River, Inara, and Preacher available soon, or there’ll be hell to pay!  Fear the Browncoats!

The Flash, Arrow, Gotham News moved to

Okay, I’ve decided to move any news regarding these shows to  Hope you’re willing to read the info there!

Karl Yune To Join ARROW Cast as Maseo Yamashiro

Just recently, I posted about Devon Aoki being cast in a recurring role in the upcoming season of Arrow.  Well, her character has a husband named Maseo Yamashiro, and he will be played by Karl Yune.

Like Devon, Karl has been kind of out of the limelight the past few years, but this new role could revive his career. (I’m hoping!)

Devon Aoki In Recurring Role in ARROW

As expected, we’ll have some characters introduced into Season 3 of Arrow, one of them being Katana, who will be played by Devon Aoki.  Devon hasn’t appeared in any movies or TV shows in a few years, but is most recognized for her roles in Sin City and 2 Fast 2 Furious. Continue reading

GOTHAM Character Posters Several Feature Recognizable Names

After the success of The CW’s Arrow, it’s no surprise that the Fox/WB duo is hitting the small screen again with another superhero-related drama based on Batman’s dark city, Gotham.  But in this version, it’s more the story of Detective James Gordon, who years later, becomes Commissioner Gordan to Bruce Wayne’s Batman.  For now, it’s just Bruce Wayne, and several other tainted individuals whose “ordinary” names you may recognize.

The CW Gives Us a 5-Minute Extended Trailer of THE FLASH

From the moment I saw the Arrow teaser trailer at Comic-Con a few years ago, I knew I wanted to check it out.  And I’m glad I did, because it’s become one of those shows continuously ups the ante.  And I’m hoping that The Flash will do the same thing (it helps to have the same people behind Arrow to pen this one).  DC has a trek ahead of them on the big screen, but they definitely rule in the small screen, and this series looks to add to their pot.

Grant Gustin, who was last seen in Arrow getting blasted in an electrical mishap, made a pretty impressing appearance as Barry Allen, and I’m excited to see how he makes this character his own.  So far, he’s not looking too shabby!

Check out the screencaps from the trailer after the jump.  The Flash also stars Danielle Panabaker, Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton, and Tom Cavanaugh.  And yes, Arrow’s Stephen Amell will make an appearance in the pilot episode!  Well, he has to, of course.
